War Room: A Dark Conspiracy – Week 10 Field Report
WEEK 10 – Reports from the Battlefront
Ninety-three clashes reached the campaign desk this week, and the shape of the war changed sharply around them. Dark Elves still hold the crown, but the roar beneath the throne is no longer verminous: the Hordes of Chaos have smashed upward from the middle ranks into second place.
Week 10 was a week of brutal contrasts. Chaos took the weekly honours with a near-perfect return; the Dogs of War turned contracts into a spectacular climb; and the Tomb Kings filled the archive with the patient arithmetic of the dead. At the other end of the ledger, Bretonnia and the Chaos Dwarfs suffered the sort of weeks that leave banners torn, captains questioned and grudges written in very large script.
Best performers this week:
- Hordes of Chaos: 2.55 PPG over 11 games; W10 rank #1 ↑ (from #6).
- Dogs of War: 1.89 PPG over 9 games; W10 rank #2 ↔ (stable).
- Dark Elves: 1.83 PPG over 12 games; W10 rank #3 ↑ (from #8).
- Skaven: 1.82 PPG over 11 games; W10 rank #4 ↑ (from #12).

- Chaos Dwarfs: 0.42 PPG over 12 games; W10 rank #17 ↓ (from #11).
- Bretonnia: 0.23 PPG over 13 games; W10 rank #18 ↓ (from #13).
Battles of note:
- The northern eruption: Hordes of Chaos posted the week’s best return, going unbeaten across eleven appearances and turning a run of wins over Daemons, Bretonnia, Dogs of War and Orcs & Goblins into a leap from #8 to #2.
- The paymasters collect again: Dogs of War absorbed a Dark Elf massacre locally, then paid it back with victories over Chaos Dwarfs, Kislev and Bretonnia, including several brutal massacres that carried them up the global board.
- Be’lakor’s feast: Be_lakor_CH led Daemons into two The Old World Pitched Battles against Tyrant_Urs and the Ogre Kingdoms, claiming a Massacre and a Solid Victory before the Ogres found better meat elsewhere.
- Bretonnia’s broken lances: the realm suffered the week’s worst performance, losing twelve of thirteen appearances and falling from #13 to #15 while High Elves, Dogs of War, Vampire Counts and Chaos all took their toll.
- The dead write in volume: Tomb Kings recorded eighteen faction appearances, with eight draws and seven victories, proving that even when Nehekhara does not dominate the week it can still bury the ledger in sand and bone.

The brayherds finally crawled off the very bottom, though no one at the herdstone will mistake this for glory. The week contained wins, draws and one familiar local catastrophe, all wrapped in mud and spite.

The Dark Elves keep the crown, and they do so with exactly the sort of cruelty Naggaroth respects: one local massacre, a high stack of draws, and enough satellite victories to make pursuit expensive. The throne did not wobble this week; it merely acquired more bloodstains.

The daemonic hosts remain among the true terrors of the campaign, but Week 10 was not theirs alone. They devoured Ogres locally and burned through Empire and greenskins abroad, yet Chaos checked the tide twice over.

The north erupted. Week 10 belongs to the Hordes of Chaos, who thundered from the middle pack into second place with a return so violent it reads less like a campaign turn and more like an invasion omen.
Battles in Karak Norn Wargaming this week
• [The Old World – Local] When the horns sounded for Pitched Battle, Khorne_Mathias’s Hordes of Chaos fell upon Ironbreaker_Chris’s Dwarfs fielding Expeditionary Force (AJ) in a 2,000-point army. The Great Plan moved slowly this week. The temple-cities traded blows with Skaven, Tomb Kings and Daemons, but the old cold-blooded certainty was blunted by too many reversals.
Battles in Karak Norn Wargaming this week
• [6th Edition – Local] Across ground marked for Capture, Tzunki_Tom’s Lizardmen fielding Southlands (LM-AB) locked shields with Nehekhara_Pete’s Tomb Kings fielding Quatar's Army (WebGW) in a 3,000-point grand host. The Southlands host moved in quick, scaled waves, skinks and sacred beasts working to one design. A sacred champion of the Old Ones marched with the cohort, cold purpose radiating from the scaled ranks. Neither side could force the last yard, and the field settled into a Draw.
• [The Old World – Local] Under the demands of Meeting Engagement, Sotek_Awakens’s Lizardmen crossed blades with Settra_Chris’s Tomb Kings fielding Mortuary Cult (AJ) in a 750-point warband. Battles in Karak Norn Wargaming this week
• [6th Edition – Local] Across ground marked for Capture, Nehekhara_Pete’s Tomb Kings fielding Quatar's Army (WebGW) advanced against Tzunki_Tom’s Lizardmen fielding Southlands (LM-AB) in a 3,000-point grand host. • [The Old World – Local] Under the demands of Meeting Engagement, Settra_Chris’s Tomb Kings fielding Mortuary Cult (AJ) locked shields with Sotek_Awakens’s Lizardmen in a 750-point warband. The battle refused to choose a master and closed as a Draw.
