War Room: A Dark Conspiracy – Week 12 Field Report

WEEK 12 – Reports from the Battlefront

86 clashes reached the campaign desk this week, including two late satellite dispatches that have now been folded into their proper factions rather than left as stray splinter reports.

The Dark Elves still hold the global crown, but the most dangerous sound this week came from beneath the floorboards: Skaven surged back into second with the strongest weekly return, while the Hordes of Chaos slipped to third after a frustrating round. Wood Elves and Lizardmen also struck with real precision, and the lower half of the table remained a churn of massacres, grudges and desperate salvage work.

Best performers this week:

  • Skaven: W12 rank #1; weekly record +6/+1/+1.
  • Wood Elves: W12 rank #2; weekly record +4/+2/+0.
  • Lizardmen: W12 rank #3; weekly record +3/+3/+4.
  • Dark Elves: W12 rank #4; weekly record +3/+5/+3.
  • High Elves: W12 rank #5; weekly record +3/+5/+3.
  • Ogre Kingdoms: W12 rank #6; weekly record +4/+5/+3.
  • Vampire Counts: W12 rank #7; weekly record +3/+1/+8.
  • Dogs of War: W12 rank #8; weekly record +3/+1/+4.
  • Empire: W12 rank #9; weekly record +3/+0/+8.
  • Orcs & Goblins: W12 rank #10; weekly record +5/+2/+7.
  • Tomb Kings: W12 rank #11; weekly record +2/+2/+9.
  • Chaos Dwarfs: W12 rank #12; weekly record +1/+0/+5.
  • Beastmen: W12 rank #13; weekly record +3/+5/+8.
  • Hordes of Chaos: W12 rank #14; weekly record +0/+3/+3.
  • Dwarfs: W12 rank #15; weekly record +1/+4/+6.
  • Bretonnia: W12 rank #16; weekly record +2/+0/+9.
  • Kislev: W12 rank #17; weekly record +0/+1/+5.
  • Daemons: W12 rank #18; weekly record +1/+0/+1.

Battles of note:

  • The under-empire had teeth this week. Clan Pestilens mauled Kislev twice on the local tables, while Queek’s raiders tore through a Chaos Dwarf warband and the wider Skaven swarm clawed its way back to second place overall.
  • Athel Loren fought like a forest with a grudge. The Wood Elves slipped through the dark to harry Nehekhara in three Night Raids, bloodied the Beastmen on distant fields, and finished the week unbeaten.
  • Sotek’s children checked the northern tide. The Lizardmen met the Everchosen’s warriors in three Exterminate patrols and came away with two narrow victories and a draw, enough to push the temple-cities back above the Tomb Kings.
  • The old hatred gave the week its grand spectacle: a 4,000-point clash between Dark Elves and Dwarfs that ground to a bloody standstill before the Druchii found easier prey on the satellite front.
  • The Maw had its moment of revenge. Ogre Kingdoms battered Strigoi’s dead in three small but vicious Breakthrough actions, then held their nerve through a string of distant scraps to climb out of the lower reaches.
  • At the bottom of the field, the campaign grew cruel. Bretonnian lances broke against Dogs of War steel, Kislev froze under a week without victory, and the Daemons barely stirred before being dragged into the wider arithmetic of war.

Here is the master ledger of this week’s tabletop advances.

The herds remain at the foot of the table, but not silent. They fought themselves, they bloodied Bretonnia from afar, and then Lizardmen and Empire reminded them what organised force looks like.

The Druchii still hold the summit, but Week 12 was less a coronation than a knife-fight at altitude: sharp results, a costly Asur reply, and a new satellite massacre folded into the black ledger.

The daemonic tide was strangely thin this week. One victory kept the tally moving, but the newly merged late daemonic report adds a rare Imperial check to the ledger.

Lustria answered Chaos with cold-blooded discipline. The cohorts did not sweep every field, yet their Exterminate run against the north gave the week its clearest temple-city signature.
