About the ruins of the Ogre Stronghold

The expedition from Karak Norn, sent east to search the ruined ogre stronghold in the Mountains of Mourn, returned with fewer warriors and more history than anyone had expected.

At their head marched Zambula, a mercenary dwarf with frost in his beard and the look of one who had left good comrades buried beneath bad snow. Behind him came three rune-locked carts filled not with gold, but with something rarer: carved tusks, hide maps, iron plates, old contracts and the broken records of an ogre hold long since fallen silent.

Some called them brute-scribbles.

Zambula broke that talk quickly.

“Memory is memory,” he growled. “Even when it is ugly.”

Karak Norn had fought the ogres often, and not always as enemies. They had been raiders, oathbreakers and monsters, aye, but also mercenaries, drinking companions and, at times, stubborn allies worth every coin paid to them. The dwarfs had known them well once.

So a new chamber was carved beneath the hold.

Not a treasury. Not an armoury.

A vault of knowledge.

There, beneath a split ogre tusk bound in iron, the relics of the dead stronghold were placed, translated and preserved. At the centre stood a black stone slab bearing Zambula’s chosen words:

Here are kept the memories of the ogres, who were our foes, our blades-for-hire, our oathbreakers, our oathkeepers, our enemies and, at times, our friends.

The hammers of Karak Norn rang on.

And in the Vault of Broken Tusks, the dwarfs remembered.

 Great news, community!

Explorers from Karak Norn have visited the ruins of the old Ogre Stronghold, the ancestral home forum of the Ogre Kingdom players, which was destroyed long time ago.

Since then, the Ogre players have been dispersed to the four winds, hosted on niche boards of generic Warhammer forums, Discord channels and subreddits.

While we can not return these players their rightful home, we have managed to save part of the knowledge that has been lost for more than a decade.

We have created a static website with the scraped content of the threads available on Wayback Machine, into a modern searchable static website, that will allow the Ogre Players to read the rules discussions, advice and tales of the golden days.

Since the new "forum" is hosted in GitHub, we have added a functionality to allow the registered users to open new Issues to follow up any existent thread. By using tags, this can sort and organize these issues inside the category of the original thread.

If, in the near future, the Ogre Community decides they want their own forum back, we would study how to create a new proper forum. But, for now, let's raise a tankard and read the tales of joy, victory and brotherhood.
